2007 Meat Goat Buck Test held at CSU.
Fort Collins, Colorado   CSU

I am an assistant professor in the department of animal sciences at CSU.  My duties are to teach animal reproduction, introductory animal science, integrated resource management, and food animal nutrition in the vet school.  I am also responsible for the sheep and goat programs at CSU.  Before my graduate work, I managed a 64,000 acre ranch in Texas which at any given time had 6000 hair goats and around 2500 meat goats.  Over time, the hair goat numbers diminished and the meat goat numbers increased.  We have only recently began a goat program at CSU in order to meet the needs of the goat clientele in the state of Colorado.  The goat test was started in response to demand from goat producers.  CSU will continue to provide education and expertise to assist goat producers.
